This site is dedicated to the memory of Mike.
Mike was born in Lambeth on 9th July 1948. He was a devoted husband and father whose kind and loving nature will always be remembered by all of his friends and family.
This website was set up to allow his friends and family to donate money to the Motor Neurone Disease Association through The Michael Gobel Tribute Fund, which will help other sufferers, their families, and research into finding a cure for this cruel disease. It is also a place we can share merories, thoughts and pictures about Mike and keep everyone updated on our fundraising plans for the future.
If you would like to make an online donation through Mike's Tribute Fund, please click on the donation link to the Motor Neurone Disease Association website and select the option of making a tribute fund donation. Then enter 'The Michael Gobel Tribute Fund' in the second box under the amount you are donating to associate your donation to Mike's fund. At the end of each month the total of the donations raised through Mike's fund will be sent on to me to put the details up on the website. Thoughts
It was my 50th Birthday the other day and as these sort of dates come and go, the mind wanders off and thinks about those who you have known over the years. Chris Stanton , Brian Bennett and myself were musing over this the other day, and Mike came to mind. Unanimously we declared how Mike was truly one of life’s “nice guys”, and we talked fondly about his love of cricket and of course Fulham FC!
Best wishes to Mike’s family at this, and all other, times. Many of us have lost folks and its a comfort to have good memories .

I was only thinking , the other day, about Mike and a few others that have recently gone....... it was my birthday and I guess it got me thinking that we are all getting older but still such a shame to think of those who "took the early bus" , when they deserved to spend time retired .... watching Cricket n Football, travelling to Australia for the Ashes or to see the Olympics in 2012 , or just doing nothing !!!.......
Mike is missed round here you now , he really is.
